The report covers the fabrication of two microminiaturized all solid state 8GHz radio terminals with full duplex Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) multiplex. These terminals were fabricated to demonstrate the feasibility of a light-weight portable,microelectronic communications terminal. Extensive use was made of both thick film and monolithic circuit technology. This equipment has been designed for line-of-sight microwave communications as a complete terminal,or as an IF or baseband repeater for multichannel communications. This design provides the capability for either FDM or PCM transmission in addition to broadband data. (Author)
