Synthesis and Polymerization Studies of 1-Ferrocenyl-1, 3-Butadiene

The need for elastomeric polymers and/or copolymers containing the organometallic unit (ferrocene) has prompted an attempt to prepare poly-1-ferrocenyl-1,3-butadiene. The preparation and characterization of free-radical and anionic solution homo and copolymers of 1-ferrocenyl-1,3-butadiene is described. Synthesis methods for the ferrocenyl-1,3-butadiene were established. (Author)
