Computer Based Fourier Plane Techniques for Image Processing

摘要

In the past decades, picture processing has been developed in two ways: by means of Fourier optical techniques with optical image forming systems, and, following the development of computers, by means of modern data processing systems. The objective of this report is to combine these two approaches using computer techniques with the fast Fourier transform and spatial filtering, and thereby to perform picture processing in more efficient and effective ways. This work has been devoted especially to the problem of finding the boundaries of pictures, and to the character recognition problem. (Author)
