Integration of Inertialess Scanned Weather Radar Antenna with Radar Set AN/APN-158

The program consisted of the design and development of special purpose interface equipment to enable the Inertialess Scanned Weather Radar Antenna to be integrated with Radar Set AN/APN-158. The interface equipment was comprised of special purpose digital-to-analog conversion circuits to enable the digital azimuth scan number to drive the X and Y sweep circuits of the PPI indicator. The interface also contained D.C. power supplies and timing buffer circuits to synchronize the operation of the two groups of equipment. The report described the principal circuits in detail, and summarizes the results of the operational tests performed on the integrated system. (Author)
