Magnetocontrolled Arc Welding.

The book gives an account of the physical characteristics and regularities of the interaction of a welding arc with a magnetic field under different conditions: an arc in an intrinsic magnetic field; an arc with a fixed active spot in a transverse and longitudinal magnetic field; an arc between parallel-located electrodes in a transverse magnetic field; an arc in a rotating magnetic field; and an arc between edges of pipes in a radial magnetic field. Examples of the practical use of magnetocontrolled arcs are given for the purpose of obtaining the necessary shapes, dimensions and density of the joint, depth of fusion, structure of the weld metal, transfer of filler metal into a molten pool and others. The book is intended for scientific and technical engineering workers engaged in the process of welding and for those interested in low-temperature plasma.
