摘要

As the third phase of a study of flight characteristics criteria for samll general aviation airplanes, experiments were conducted with a variable stability flying simulator to determine the influence of the frequency and damping ratio of the longitudinal short period mode, pitch control sensitivity, and normal acceleration response to angle of attack on flying qualities in the landing approach. The piloting task consisted of an ILS approach in turbulence, followed by a visual runway lineup maneuver and descent to flare-initiation height. The results are compared with requirements for piloted military airplanes of the same general category, and some criteria for civil use are suggested. (Author)
