Initial Production Test of Cartridge, 81-mm,HE, M374A2with Reduced Bourrelet and Waterproofed Ignition -Propellant System.

An initial production test was conducted on the 81-MM mortar cartridge,HE, M374A2to determine how the test item compared to the M374E5test cartridge submitted previously for test and evaluation. Residue tests and velocity and range dispersion tests were made. Waterproofness,rain,puddle,and humidity tests were made. Rough handling tests using charge protector muffs and solar-radiation tests with charge protection were made.
