Solvent Removal of EC-2273Potting Compound from F-4Aircraft Electrical Components.

摘要

A safe,fast,and effective solvent system was developed for the removal of EC-2273encapsulant. This material,which is now showing signs of failing,is the potting compound used in several hundred components of a large number of Navy F-4aircraft. The preferred solvent system consists of a mixture of N-methyl-2-pyrollidone (M-Pyrol),benz hydroxide and methanol. Virgin,as well as deteriorated,EC-2273is cleanly removed from a typical electrical connector simply by immersion of the component in the solution for a period of a few hours. (Author)
