摘要

The objective of the program was to fabricate a precipitation hardened Ni/Cr/ThO2alloy and thereby combine the high temperature strength of dispersion strengthened alloys with the low and intermediate temperature strength of commercial superalloys. The tensile strength of the experimental precipitation hardened Ni/Cr/Al/Ti/ThO2alloy exceeded the program goals at temperatures below 1600F but the stress-rupture behavior was well below expectations. Although significant contributions to the low and intermediate temperatures strengths were achieved as a result of precipitation of the gamma prime Ni3(Al,Ti) phase,the associated fine-grain microstructure prevented the achievement of high strength at 2000F.
