摘要

Improved fused silicide coatings for columbium alloys were selected on the basis if slow cyclic oxidation tests. Several coating compositions were broadly characterized in terms of their structure and chemistry by means of x-ray diffraction and electron microbeam probe techniques and in terms of their applicability and performance by experimental analyses of wetability and flowability,faying surface penetration,coating repair,mechanical property tests,slow thermal cycling,furnace and torch oxidation,arc plasma tests,low temperature cycling,low pressure -high temperature exposures,reentry simulation and statistical reliability analyses.
