The Conference was organized so that fundamental aspects of stress-corrosion cracking were discussed on the first day from a number of different viewpoints. Next,three groups met to consider the possible application of these ideas to the diverse problems of cracking of stainless steel,particularly in nuclear reactors;of the corrosion of high-strength alloys,particularly aluminum and titanium;and of degradation of silicon nitride. The reports comprising the meeting are presented. (Author)
