摘要

X-band cavities for shear wave generation with thin film piezoelectric transducers are described. Methods of Rayleigh and Love elastic surface generation on bulk quartz and thin films of CdS and ZnS are discussed. Attenuation measurements as a function of temperature and frequency are given. Velocity dispersion of Rayleigh waves in ZnS films on Al203has been observed. Acoustic amplification of surface waves was investigated but not observed. Prototype surface wave directional couplers were fabricated. (Author)
