Research in Theoretical Quantum Optics.

摘要

During the course of AFOSR Contract no. 70-1921several problems were solved,seven papers were published and substantial progress was made on still other fronts. The areas of research involved include: the detection and emission of coherent infrared radiation by superconducting tunnel junctions (papers 1and 2),aspects of coherence theory including the revelation of outstanding problems in the quantum theory of laser radiation (papers 3and 4),the completion of work on laser photon statistical build-up and time dependence which has been several years in coming (paper 5),an invited paper was written which intended to present aspects of the above as well as other problems in a pedagogical review fashion (paper 6),and finally work on the statistics of light scattered from a system near its phase-transition critical point (paper 7). Descriptions and highlights of the above investigations are given in the following sections,and reprints of the papers are enclosed. (Author)
