摘要

The study examines the role of the various agglutinin, hemolysin, and immunoglobulin species introducing changes in blood coagulation and renal function. Plasma from isoimmunized Macaca irus monkeys was fractionated into IgM and IgG. The effects of transfusion of these fractions on blood coagulation and renal function in incompatible recipients were studied. Only the hemolytic IgG fraction consistently resulted in hemolysis, and produced renal failure and the coagulation changes and autopsy findings characteristic of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). The amount of hemolysis in vivo was accurately predictable by the QH50, a sensitive in vitro assay of antibody hemolytic activity. (Author)
