A solution is obtained for the fully-developed pipe flow problem for a conducting liquid in a radial magnetic field. The resulting velocity profiles and friction factors are valid over a large range of Hartmann numbers. Based on the new solutions for velocity, the energy equation, including the viscous and ohmic dissipation terms, is solved. Nusselt number is obtained as a function of Hartmann number and dimensionless temperature profiles are presented as a function of Hartmann number and a parameter dependent upon the ratio of ohmic heating to wall heat transfer. Large magnetic influence on the temperature profiles is shown to be possible. (Author)
