Critical Transport Properties in the Binary Liquid Phase Transition

When the liquid having the critical concentration of each component is cooled below the critical temperature it begins to form two phases, separated by a well defined meniscus. Through various fluctuation-dissipation theorems, it is possible to relate critical transport coefficients to time and space integrals of correlation functions of the relevant fluxes. The anomaly in the critical transport properties is thus attributed to the cooperation of two effects: The anomalous increase in the large-scale fluctuations of concentration variables contained in the flux, and The anomalous increase in the lifetimes associated with these fluctuations.
