The Development of a Configuration Management Approach for the Operational Phase of the NATO SEASPARROW Project

The report develops a configuration management approach for use during the operational phase of the NATO SEASPARROW Surface Missile System project. A brief description of the concepts and techniques of configuration management as well as the background of the NATO SEASPARROW project are presented to familiarize the reader with the subject matter. The sub-alternatives and constraints in the areas of organizational form, authority constraints, and change control measures are enumerated and evaluated against the goals of the members of the consortium and the requirements of sound configuration management. System alternatives and constraints are then synthesized from the sets of sub-alternatives to provide a final set of cohesive, viable, alternatives. (Author)
