摘要

The development of hydroelectric facilities in regions where power demands are met primarily thermal generating facilities assumes that the hydroelectric generation will be used for supplying power during peak demand periods. Consequently the planning of hydroelectric facilities requires consideration of both the capacity and energy components of power supply. In a system of hydroplants in various interacting configurations and many thermal plants with varying efficiencies and at various locations with respect to load centers, it is a complicated process to develop operation rules that match supplies with demands. This paper is directed toward the development of a long-term operation plan for a system of reservoirs in the Arkansas River, White River and Red River basins. (Author)
