摘要

The purpose of this handbook is to introduce the natural and the artificial environments and their more significant effects on Army materiel and equipment,and to provide a basis for communication among those having an interest in the Engineering Design Handbook Series. Emphasis is upon (1) those portions of the environment that are important to the military because they produce effects that are often adverse,and (2) those conditions most likely to exist rather than those which are extremely rare.
