Relative Optimal Reinforcement Patterns for Fiber Reinforced Composite Membranes,

A method is proposed to obtain relatively optimal reinforcements in a fiber-reinforced composite membrane. The method is based on the fact that a reinforcing fiber is most efficiently utilized when it coincides with the direction of maximum required stiffness,and the directions of principal trajectories are not dependent on any fiber reinforcement as long as the fibers coincide with those directions. An optimality condition for the fiber reinforcement is derived. (Author)
