The purpose of the study is to provide information to engineers on use,cost,time,and other factors relating to rock stress and modulus gages. The primary interest is directed toward collection of specific use-data on the U. S. Bureau of Mines borehole gage,CSIR 'doorstopper', Griswold gage,and the Photoelastic glass plug used for in-situ rock-stress determination;and the Rocha dilatometer, Goodman jack, U. S. Bureau of Mines CPC,and the Menard pressure meter used for in-situ rock-modulus determination. (Author)
