Research efforts included (1) experimental and clinical studies of parenteral therapy and body fuel utilization; (2) perfusion of isolated livers with fluorocarbon emulsions; (3) fluid gelatins in the treatment of hemorrhage; (4) effects of acidosis on glucose metabolism; and (5) biphasic effect of hypoxia on adrenal catecholamine content.
