摘要

Rotational and vibrational temperature profiles of pure and argon diluted hydrogen-fluorine flames have been obtained from HF emission spectra. Hydrogen rich, stoichiometric and fluorine rich flames diluted with 70% argon have maximum temperatures of 2375, 2625, and 2225 plus or minus 200K at 4 torr as determined from the 3-0 emission band. The vibrational temperature was determined from the ratio of 3-0 to 4-1 band intensity and was in the range 5500 K to 4000K in the flame reaction zones. A flame model in which the collisional dissociation of vibrationally excited hydrogen fluoride HF* + M yielding H + F + M is assigned a major role in the chain reaction mechanism appears to explain satisfactorily the experimental data. The model includes an independent calculation of the dissociation rate of vibrationally excited HF.
