COMPARISON OF LEVELS OF LABOUR PRODUCTIVITY IN INDUSTRY IN AUSTRIA, CZECHOSLOVAKIA, FRANCE AND HUNGARY

The work needed for the "multi-lateralisation" of the three bilateral comparisons was undertaken in the course of 1970. On the basis of a methodological outline prepared by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, supplementary data were collected and the necessary calculations made. It had been envisaged that the project should be carried out mainly by correspondence, but it became necessary for the experts from the participating countries to meet to discuss the various problems which arose and to adopt an agreed report on the comparisons.nThe report on the multi-lateral comparisons, set out in the following document, was prepared jointly by the Statistical Offices of Austria, Czechoslovakia, Prance and Hungary. It first describes the character of the study and the methods used and then gives a detailed account of the results obtained.
