Pralidoxime Methane Sulfonate: Plasma Levels and Pharmacokinetics in Man After Oral Administration of a New Preparation

A new oral preparation of pralidoxime methane sulfonate was administered to 20 normal volunteers. The six subjects who ate before receiving the compound had higher plasma concentrations than those who had fasted. The biological half time was 1.52 hours, and 31.9% of the dose was recovered in the urine. The renal clearance was 4.1 times the clearance of endogenous creatinine, and the volume of distribution was greater than body volume. Plasma concentrations were equivalent on a molar basis to a comparable dose of pralidoxime chloride. (Author)
