An Optimum Multiple-Launch Program for Artificial Satellites.

The economic analysis of a communication satellite system in uncontrolled orbits in which dispersed satellites operate in a single low orbit will depend on several factors among which the feasibility of a multiple or modular launch, the life span of a given satellite, the minimum number of operating satellites dictated by the black-out probability, the cost of a launch and that of investment. These factors are simultaneously incorporated to arrive at an optimum satellite replenishment program to minimize the total expected cost per unit time. (Author)
