Development of Interactive Dialogue Modules that Would Provide Junior Officers with Information about Army Career Planning Policies, Procedures and Strategies.

The Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences is developing a model counseling system whose purpose is to facilitate research into the needs and problems of junior officers in the United States Army. The focal point of this program is to examine and develop optimal ways for providing career counseling services. One part of this system is the Army Computerized Career Counseling System which will be used to explore the possible role of computers in the counseling process. This paper describes work on a contract to develop interactive computer dialogues concerned with U.S. Army officer personnel policies and procedures.
