Data Manipulation and Sensing in the Plasma Display/Storage Panel

A program to study and develop data manipulation and sensing techniques for large scale plasma display/memory panels has been completed. The program consisted of three primary tasks: the investigation, development, and evaluation of techniques for extracting stored information from large scale plasma/display memory panels via direct electrical readout; the development and evaluation of techniques for manipulating data stored in the display with light pen systems; and the determination of the feasibility of realizing direct optical input systems using commercially available panels.
