Some Descriptive Statistics on Six Years of Field Maintenance and Operational Data on the F4 Aircraft with Implications for Iran Intervals

Six years of field maintenance and operational data were examined on various selected models of the F4. The data were investigated relative to IRAN interval variations and base location history, and in terms of each previously performed IRAN. Certain statistically significant, but weak, relationships were discovered to describe field maintenance and/or operational variables in terms of months from last IRAN. The original intent was to use any defined relationships in a cost model to provide management information on an optimal IRAN interval; however, development of a cost model would duplicate the work of another study which is presently being conducted. The report also includes numerous statistics on field maintenance which should interest aircraft weapon systems management personnel. (Modified author abstract)
