The author gives a timestep splitting technique for solving coupled multifluid equations of motion when the internal dynamics of each fluid may be handled by an explicit scheme. Interaction forces are treated implicitly to first order accuracy in a separate timestep. The method possesses desirable conservation properties, and gives correct behavior in the limits of weak and strong fluid coupling. Comparison with an analytic solution gives approximate error bounds. The implicit interaction step is found to be stable for all values of the timestep. (Author)
