摘要

Extracellular development of malaria parasites in vitro was found to be affected in a specific way by bongkrekic acid, an antibiotic known to interfere with adenine nucleotide translocation in mitochondria. The DNA of Plasmodium lophurae was found to have a minor satellite band of buoyant density higher than that of the main band. Methods for separation of the membranes of malaria parasites have been developed with the aim of characterizing their enzymatic activities.
