Magnetic and Optical Properties of Defect-Stabilized Charge States of Rare-Earth Atoms.

摘要

The Mossbauer effect has been used to investigate the production and defect stabilization of Co,Fe,Eu and Dy in a variety of crystals. The experiments include studies of the site and valence-state distribution of Co and Fe in spinels,of very short-lived tetravalent states of Eu and Dy produced by alpha-particle bombardment,of divalent Eu in calcium difluoride and its conversion to trivalent Eu,and of Fe surface defects in hematite.
