Evaluation of Existing VOR, Localizer, and Glideslope Receiving Equipment. Volume I

Rapidly expanding aviation services have resulted in the need for additional instrument landing systems and en-route navigational aids. The resulting problem of radio frequency congestion has forced the FAA to consider the use of 'split channel' frequency assignments. Existing VOR, Localizer, and Glideslope receivers have been tested to evaluate their performance in this split channel environment. The receivers tested were those resulting from a population analysis that determined receiver models comprising approximately 90 percent of those in present use. This volume contains a graphical/tabular summary of the complete test results shown in Volume II and includes additional information concerning receiver population.
