Testing of Dacor R-4Double Hose SCUBA Regulator.

The military specifications for open circuit SCUBA regulators provide a mechanism by which commercial vendors may submit their regulator to the Navy Experimental Diving Unit for testing for possible approval for U. S. Navy use. Accordingly,one Dacor Corporation Model R-4double hose SCUBA regulator was tested on 22October 1969. The inhalation resistance of the regulator was found to exceed the maximum levels allowed for double hose SCUBA regulator by Mil-R-19558. The regulator was,therefore,not approved for U. S. Navy use.
