摘要

The Department of Defense (DOD) operates 11 official food testing laboratories in support of military public health and food procurement program. A large volume of food microbiological data is generated annually; these data have great potential in developing food microbiological guidelines and in identifying problem areas. Until recently, a centralized data collection program was not available. A computerized data collection program was designed and implemented at the United States Army Medical Research and Nutrition Laboratory, Denver, Colorado. The 11 DOD laboratories contributed food microbiological data, and a computer program was designed to efficiently utilize this information. Results of analyzing the 1972 file are presented in the form of graphs and tables. (Author)
