Diffusion coefficients of four binary electrolyte systems were measured using the capillary-reservoir method. The four systems are: 1.0 molar KC1 in aqueous solution diffusing into H2O; 0.01 molar ZnO in 40% KOH solution diffusing into 40% KOH; 0.05 molar aqueous CuSO4 diffusing into H2O; and a series of 0.005 - 0.10 molar CuSO4 in 0.5 molar H2SO4 diffusing into 0.5M H2SO4. The ZnO/KOH and CuSO4/H2SO4 systems are of current interest to electrochemical engineers, and demonstrate the use of this technique for binary electrolytes.
