摘要

The impact and rebound characteristics of high speed erosive quartz particles have been experimentally determined. The impact parameters were found to be statistical in nature and the statistical distributions were obtained. The alloys used in this investigation were 410 stainless steel and 6Al-4V. Because of the increased usage and interest in vehicles which operate on and over unprepared and dusty terrains (helicopters, hovercraft and V/STOL aircraft), recent interest in this field is involved with the prediction of erosion in aero turbomachinery.
