A MODEL FOR DATA SECURE SYSTEMS. PART Ⅱ

In this report, we continue with the modelling effort begun in the first report. The major portion of this report is devoted to the develop¬ment and discussion of a Structural Model, We expand upon the conceptual model introduced in Part I to include a discussion of the overall data base structure and algorithms for its maintanence and use. The atom concept is improved to reflect more accurately the nature of security specifications. The concept is unified with the concept of storage cell in the model for the study of protection completeness and access and storage efficiency. The model shows that proper utilization of the atom and cell concepts can result in a data secure system with effective protection and efficient access. Furthermore, these concepts can lend themselves toward storage compartmentalization of data aggregates for security purpose. Several examples are developed with sufficient details to illustrate the utilization.
