Performance of Nylon Sheaves for Manila Rope Blocks.

Solid nylon sheaves with and without lubricant were compared with lubricated roller-bearing metal sheaves in standard 10in. boat hoisting blocks. The friction was very nearly the same in both cases. The strength of the nylon sheaves appeared to be ample. (Author)
