Calculations of the peak temperature in fully turbulent flow along the centerline of the windward surface of a flat delta wing with 80-deg sweep are given for four simple estimates of the turbulent heating rates and four criteria for the onset of boundary layer transition. Angles of attack up to 60deg are considered and equilibrium glide trajectories are used. The four methods of estimating the heat transfer are Eckert's reference enthalpy,the adiabatic wall reference enthalpy, Spalding and Chi,and the reference density-viscosity methods. The effect of transition onset location is examined for a length Reynolds number criterion that is either a constant or a function of Mach number and also for a momentum thickness Reynolds number that is either a function of Mach number or Mach number and angle of attack.
