Distribution of Tension and Frictional Forces Along a Model Band Track.

A mathematical model was developed which would predict the tension distribution along a band track,and a physical model was designed,constructed,and used to investigate the accuracy of the mathematical model. The model appeared adequate in predicting tension distribution for a static vehicle,but did not predict the redistribution of tension when the vehicle was in motion. (Modified author abstract)
