摘要

A drop test program was initiated to establish the statistical validity of the temperature effect on foamed plastic containers. The key facets of the proposed research were: Identification of an experimental design which would be capable of statistically verifying the temperature effect; Pilot study development for experimental design verification; The three temperature levels to be investigated are -65F, 70F, and 160F; Primary candidate cushioning materials are polyurethene foam, both polyester and polyether; vinyl foam; rubberized hair; polyethylene foam, both plain and cross-linked (Minicel); and polystyrene foam.
