A Discussion of Excessive Rainfall Attenuations at Millimeter Wavelengths,

The report investigates work that has been done in the measurement and prediction of the attenuation of millimeter waves by rainfall. In this report,rainfall attenuation refers solely to that caused by the liquid phase;this is over and above that due to water vapor and the other gaseous components of the atmosphere. Also,since relatively little has been done in the actual millimeter region,attention will also be given to the neighboring short centimeter wave region. The report examines the correlation between theoretical predictions of rainfall attenuation and the attenuation actually measured. This correctly implies that the correlation is not perfect in some ways.
