A Torsional Pendulum for Dynamic Mechanical Properties of Polymers,

摘要

A torsional pendulum for obtaining the shear modulus and mechanical damping properties of rigid polymers is described. Included are descriptions of the apparatus,preliminary test runs,and the computer programs used to analyze the data. This instrument is considered a prime tool for the evaluation of the dynamic mechanical properties of polymers and composites over a broad temperature spectrum. It is also invaluable in relating polymer molecular structure to mechanical response. (Author)
