摘要

It is shown that the oxygen-enhanced fluorescence of organic molecules in polymer matrices can be explained by a trival process involving a high steady-state concentration in the excited triplet state with depopulation of the ground state of the solute in the absence of oxygen. If the triplet-state lifetime is shortened, e.g.,by O2quenching,then the gound-state concentration (and thereby the fluorescence) will increase. (Modified author abstract)
