The purpose of the evaluation is to determine the value of the Walter Kiddie,Non-Magnetic Scuba Cylinder Assembly,with Buoyancy Compensator,as a scuba cylinder unit for Navy use. Several new features are presented in this piece of equipment,which have been taken into consideration. An O-ring is used to form a seal where the cylinder plugs screw into the cylinder. The air reserve mechanism is somewhat simplified from the one currently in use. The yoke valve employes an O-ring with backing up ring as a valve stem packing and a teflon washer as a valve disc. The manifold consists of three pieces which are joined by welding. A manually operated buoyancy compensating device is included to allow the diver to compensate for buoyancy gained due to expending the air supply. (Modified author abstract)
