摘要

During wound tissue regeneration the amount of cytoplasmic RNA (expressed as a RNA to DNA ratio) remains relatively constant while the amount and types of nuclear RNA change. Nuclear RNA reaches a maximum level on the 8th day of regeneration and subsequently decreases. A large increase in the proportion of DNA-like RNA in the nuclei is also noted. These changes appear to parallel the variation is the reported rates of protein synthesis. The levels of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase and active RNase in the nucleic also change during tissue regeneration. These changes correspond well with the variation in the relative amount of nuclear RNA. It thus appears that the variations in the level of nuclear and total RNA per cell and the related protein synthesizing activity in regenerating cutaneous tissue are,at least,in part related to changes in the levels of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase and active RNase.
