摘要

The reaction of phenyl(trihalomethyl)mercury compounds with azodicarboxylate esters in benzene at 80 degrees gives hydrazonodihalomethanes of type (RO2C)2NN=CX2 (X=Cl and/or Br). Sodium trichloroacetate reacts similarly, giving the same type of product (X=Cl). A study of this reaction (R=Me) as carried out at room temperature provided evidence for an intermediate in these reactions.
