Interlaminar Stresses in Composite Laminates.

摘要

The mechanism of load transfer between the layers of a fiber-reinforced composite laminate of finite-width is investigated by methods of classical elasticity. The finite-difference technique was employed to obtain numerical solutions of the governing equations of elasticity. Variables considered in the study include stacking sequence,laminate geometry,material properties,and fiber orientation. Employing the insight gained by the results of the investigation,expressions for the 'average'interlaminar stresses,as a function of material properties and laminate geometry,are developed for consideration in the design of a finite-width laminate subjected to extensional loads.
