摘要

The report discusses the fundamental principles of ten potential techniques of pipe inspection,fabrication,installation,and the results obtained during selected experiments designed to verify the performance characteristics of each respective method. The methods considered likely candidates for the inspection task included optical viewing,ultrasonics,radiometry and microwave monitoring. Other methods considered during the study included holography,acoustic emission,thermal inspection and radiography. The flaws considered most detrimental to RPC pipe were undercure,resin starved and/or resin rich areas, delaminations,unbonded inclusions and folds in the prepreg tape. (Modified author abstract)
